Community Holly Days in Vernal
November the 26, 2010 (the Friday following
Thanksgiving)
The Annual Vernal Community Holly Days Festival is a family-friendly event made
possible by countless community minded volunteers, businesses and organizations.
2010 marks the 7th year of bringing together the sights and sounds of the season
in Downtown Vernal. Activities and attractions are held at both indoor and
outdoor venues so be sure to dress warm! Whether a returning fan or attending
for the first time, the Vernal Community Holly Days Festival Community hopes you
enjoy the magic.
Vernal Community Holly Days is your best kick-off to the Christmas Holiday
Season! A Free Family-Fun Event, Community Holly Days is filled with the spirit
of the season. Start your Holly Day Season early by taking part in the Christmas
Creative Writing Contest sponsored by the Literacy Commission. Work off that
Thanksgiving dinner with Black Friday shopping at your favorite area stores, and
spend some quality time enjoying the sights and sounds at Santa's Workshop.
Become a kid again with free activities like Swimming, Ice Skating, or a Matinee
at the Vernal Theater. Now you’re all warmed up for the Ice Carving
demonstration, Go Cart Racing, Parade of Lights, Camel or Pony Rides, Incendiary
Circus Fire Dancers, Chestnuts Roasting, Children’s games, Children’s train, and
Christmas Karaoke.
Next, warm up with a cup of Hot Chocolate, roast a marshmallow, take a free
carriage ride around downtown square, and shop at your favorite stores. Don't
miss Santa Claus riding into town in the Parade of Lights and then visiting with
children in Cobble Rock Park! Catch a ride on the Holly Trolley to see the trees
on display at Trees for Charity or stroll through the wonderland of Christmas
lights at Heritage Gardens. Round out the evening with a nice dance, and the
downtown fireworks display choreographed to Christmas music on local FM radio
stations and your Holiday season will truly be off to a great start!
Business, Corporate, and Individual Sponsors and Volunteers are still needed for
this fast growing event. Please contact Vernal City 789-6924 or Vernal TV
781-1902 to get involved.
